Having had auditioned for Miss Botswana pageant five times before snatching the crown on her sixth attempt, the reigning Queen, Nicole Gaelebale realised she had to share her experiences with those that are passionate about pageantry as much as she is.

She had an idea; she wanted to create a platform where she could impart her knowledge from her past experiences and knowledge she acquired from participating in Miss Botswana since she was 18.

Having learnt from her mistakes, an idea was inspired; and it came in a form of a Pageantry School- Diamond Pageantry Academy.
 

A pageantry school that enrolls females aged between seven and 28, promotes talent development, intelligence, sisterhood, elegance and poise.

Gaelebale says the idea was in fact developed four years ago and she had been working on it till it became a reality in February.

On Friday, the first-ever pageantry academy in Botswana finally coronated its first 20 well rounded beauty queens who can now compete on an international platform after undergoing pageantry courses and excelled.

Katlego Moarabi scooped an award for the Most Impressive Graduate; Lorato Lekutwane won the Best in Pageantry Walk award; and the most articulate award went to Tebogo Sebati.

Thapelo Motlhanka and Oratile Baleti each walked away with the Best Runway and Miss Congeniality awards respectively.

Pulane Mmopelwa became the sixth Diamond Brand Ambassador, while Diamond of the Year crown was won by Mabel Sechube, who displayed dedication, patience and personal growth throughout her training.

Diamond Pageantry Academy offers eight modules that prepare the ‘Diamonds’ for national and international pageants.

The modules are; Pageantry-walk Masterclass, Presentation Skills, Fitness and Health, Talent Development, Modelling, Image and Personal Branding, Basic Life Principles and Pageantry Etiquette.
