14 Dec 2017
Palapye police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old man in the village.
Palapye Police Station commander, Superintendent Waboraro Ramaja said the duo aged 25 and 27 are alleged to have stabbed the deceased with a sharp object on the night of December 9 at Extension One.
He said the deceased was certified dead on arrival at the hospital.
The two suspects are still in police custody and have appeared before Palapye Magistrate Court, where they were denied bail as the matter is still fresh.
The deceased, whose names are still withheld, also hails from Palapye.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Ramaja urged Palapye residents to enhance security in their homes and businesses during the festive holidays.
He explained that burglary and house break-in cases are usually rife during this period, adding that the police alone cannot afford to provide maximum security.
He urged business owners to engage security companies to take care of their businesses as well as make use of policing initiatives such as neighbourhood watch. ENDS
