Police make arrests

13 Dec 2017

Police officers across the country continue to make arrests and breakthroughs relating to the ongoing 60 days of Action on Crime and Road Safety campaign.

A press release from Botswana Police Service (BPS) says Kutlwano police in Francistown have arrested four Batswana men aged between 22 and 26  for robbing a woman aged 34.

The release further says during the arrest, the suspects were found in possession of stolen property that included one cellular phone, cash amounting to over P3 000 and $42 allegedly belonging to the victim.

The suspects are still in custody while investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile in another incident, two male suspects aged between 15 and 17 were arrested in Gaborone recently for robbery and breaking into a motor vehicle and theft.

The release says the duo attacked a woman aged 20 and made away with her iphone cellular phone valued at P13 000.

It further says the suspects also broke into a motor vehicle and stole property worth P13 000.

Suspects are also in police custody awaiting completion of police investigations.

The campaign that runs between November 1 and December 31 every year gives the police and their stakeholders an opportunity to re-strategise and intensify their law enforcement initiatives as well as engage various sectors of the community in public education. ENDS
