Police arrest five for dagga possession

Five people have been arrested for unlawful possession of a substance suspected to be dagga in the ongoing 60 Days of Action on Crime and Road Safety operations.
A press release from Botswana Police Service states that the suspects were arrested on December 11 in Gaborone, Jwaneng and Serowe.
It says the police seized the substance with a combined estimated weight of around 188 grams from the suspects.
In one of the incidents, a 20-year-old woman of Bontleng location in Gaborone was arrested at her home for possession of a substance suspected to be dagga.
The police are still looking for her boyfriend, who fled the scene during the arrest.
In Serowe, a 26-year-old man of Bokhurutshe ward and another aged 29 years of Sebina ward were arrested in two separate incidents at Serowe Main Mall for unlawful possession of a substance suspected to be dagga during a stop, question and search operation.
The release further says a 28-year-old man of Lefhoko village was arrested at Moatle police checkpoint after he was found in possession of a substance suspected to be dagga.
At Sese, a police patrol team arrested a 29-year-old man of Magoleng ward for unlawful possession of a substance suspected to be dagga.
Police investigations are ongoing in all the incidents. ENDS
