11 Dec 2017
The entertainment industry on Thursday enjoyed the official launch of ATI’s new album, Envelope at Maitisong in Gaborone.
ATI born Atlasaone Molemogi, has over the years showcased immense talent and consistency during his music career.
Released on July 2017, the 20-track album consists of the popular songs such as Khiring Khiring Khorong Khorong and Poelo Morago, which have received an amazing reception among his fan base.
ATI has proved that not only is he talented, but that he strives to keep elevating and aiming for greater heights as proven by the quality of his music and exceptional performance he displayed December 7.
It is without a doubt that the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) Limited brand ambassador is a professional, who gives his music career the seriousness it deserved, continuing to impress, proving that the music industry in Botswana has grown tremendously.
The album launch saw other artists who have worked with ATI on the album such as Sasa Klass, Noello, Yung Amazing and Legacy gracing the event and giving sterling performances alongside their musical counterpart much to the revelers excitement.
Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Thapelo Olopeng commended ATI for putting effort on his craft, perfecting it to meet international standards.
That, he said had put him in a better position to perform not only in his country but also across borders.
He said the world had evolved to an era of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which forced companies to market their business through such platforms.
He advised artists to go through the same route and market themselves through social media networks to promote their art.
Olopeng encouraged artists to protect and nurture their talent as it was a gift from God advising them to be disciplined and refrain from indulging in alcohol and drug use as they have the potential to destroy their music career.
He noted that the ministry would continue to engage and assist artistes to make a decent living from their craft.
He further urged promoters and managers to take advantage of the approaching festive season and schedule artistes’ performances accordingly and well on time.
“I will fight to push for the extension of hours for entertainment so that artistes will be able to perform during festive season.
However, managers should avoid overbooking their artistes in different locations as this would force them to drive long hours especially at night, which is very dangerous as it can lead to car accidents and ultimately death,” he added.
For his part, BTC general manager - marketing, Pilot Yane said as a responsible corporation, BTC had over the years supported the development of arts and culture in Botswana.
Since bringing ATI in as a brand ambassador for BTC two months ago, he said he had grown in leaps and bounds and they would make sure that the company compliments his own brand as he was one of the biggest artistes in the country.
Yane said ATI was currently the face of an ongoing campaign themed #summer ka monate, summer ka BTC, which provides solutions speaking to the youthful like ATI.
“Batho Bame is a friends and family package that allows our customer to subscribe for either a weekly or monthly package and they nominate ten of their most frequently called people and call them for free,” he said.
He noted that BTC would continue to support other upcoming local artistes to help grow the Botswana entertainment industry and promised to be responsible to the market needs and be innovative to proper solutions to its customers. ENDS
