Man dies while fixing motor vehicle

Police in Maun are investigating an incident in which a 46-year-old man of Shashe Ward was fatally stabbed by a sharp object while trying to fix a car he was travelling in along the Boswelatlou gravel road on December 2.

Speaking in an interview, Maun Station Commander, Superintendent Motlhaba Ramaabya said the incident was reported at around 2:40 pm by a 43-year-old man of Bombadi Ward.

He explained that the self-employed mechanic was rushed to Letsholathebe II Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead.

He said the body of the deceased was in the mortuary awaiting post-mortem to find the cause of death.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating a case in which a 33-years-old woman was raped by two men at her homestead in Thito Ward on December 3 around 2:15am.

Supt Ramaabya said the victim was coming from her boyfriend’s place when the two men attacked her while trying to get in the house.

He said the two men proceeded to rob the victim a phone valued at P2 500, cash amounting to P600 and a wallet valued at P150 before disappearing. No arrests have been made concerning the incident. ENDS
