02 Nov 2017

The annual Gamalete Family Fun Day billed for next week is already promising to be a fun-filled family delight.

The week-long family event, which will be held at Tarhsy’s Royal Garden at Boatle from Monday to Sunday, will have an array of fun-filled activities for the delight of the family.

Apart from the usual family day activities, Saturday, which is the pinnacle of the event, has a host of family entertainment activities such as music, water slides, braai, jumping castle, family games and food for the whole family.

In the evening, the day will be spiced up with a strong line up of local and international artistes such as Vee, Lezibo, Dr Vom, T.H.A.B.O, Kast as well as Tuks Senganga from South Africa, among others.

The organiser of GaMalete Family Fun Day, Tshepo Keakile stressed that the event, which will be the second to be held, has shown tremendous growth.

He said the line up is flavoured enough as they have sought a combination of local and international finest artistes.

Keakile said the event will also give upcoming artistes an opportunity to showcase their talent in a major event.

“Our aim is to also push local artistes, to have them perform along big names,” Keakile said.

He was also quick to stress that female upcoming artistes will also make the line up and added that the line up also include reputable Deejays.

The event, he highlighted will cater for every community member, from grandchild to grandfather.

Last year about 300 children from the under privileged families were given free treatment at the event, a trend that will continue this year.

The disadvantaged children treatment will allow them to mingle with others and make bonds to soothe their souls.

The event organiser further stated that during the week, there will be curtain raiser activities aimed at empowering individuals, family, the community and employees.

As such there will be free workshops on subjects such as starting a business, financial management, dealing with insurances, child development and family, among others.

“We have requested some organisations to release employees and some have agreed,” he said, adding that the workshop are a free lifetime opportunity for both the employer and the employee.

He said the employer benefits by empowering staff on issues that the company could have paid to have its staff trained, while the employee or family members will get knowledge which could   change their lives for the better. BOPA
