A serowe rape and robbery suspect, Motshidisi Letsweletse who had initially pleaded guilty to both charges on October 5 changed his plea to that of not guilty when appearing before Broadhurst Magistrate Court on October 19.

The change of plea by the accused person, forced Inspector Rantopa to apply for a new date of hearing to allow the prosecution time to prepare a summary of its case as well as to prepare for the Case Management Conference.
He therefore applied for extension of Letsweletse’s further remand.
The particulars of the offences are that in count one of rape, Letsweletse on September 29, 2017 in Mmopane had carnal knowledge of a woman without her consent.
