Your Family Dentist Dental Clinic has announced a three year sponsorship worth P72 000 of dental care to the district Miss RADP top three winners.

Speaking at a media briefing recently, Mosiame of Your Family Dentist Dental Clinic said the sponsorship would be shared among the top three competition finalists.

They will receive dental care worth P10 000 for position one, P8 000 for position two and P6 000 for position three.

He said each of them would receive oral examination and treatment planning which usually include cleaning twice a year, changing of all old and defective dental fillings, treatment of any oral soft tissue disease and inflammations, replacement of teeth at the places where natural teeth are missing.

Mosiame said they use modern technologies and materials and they work with world renowned brands thus guaranteeing these young women high quality dental treatment with long term benefits.

He said they chose to work with Miss RADP project because it was well established and aimed to promote women empowerment in the marginalised communities.

He added that this was in line with their company’s policy which aimed to provide free or subsidised dental care to special needs and less privileged children and adults.

Mosiame appealed to the business community to come on board and support the initiative as the government has already laid a solid foundation through this initiative and in assisting young women in marginalised areas.

For his part, Ghanzi District Council secretary, Odirile Mabaila said since inception of Miss RADP in 2013, Ghanzi district has attracted 121 contestants competing at district level and out of this number eight managed to take part at the national level.

He said as an achievement of Miss RADP Ghanzi district, for the past two years the district retained the national title as Matshidiso Gadifele from D’kar was crowned Miss RADP 2015/16 at the national grand finale and walked away with a project fund of P50 000.

Again, in 2016/17 Miss RADP national grand finale Neo Barakaath from Qabo settlement was crowned the national queen and she walked away with P10 000 cash prize and a project fund of P50 000.

Mabaila said the current queen had identified fabric materials and accessories shop as her project and had been offered an operational space at Ghanzi bus rank to operate her business.

He said even though the district was doing well in this competition nationally, the district funds allocated to Miss RADP preparations were inadequate to cover all the necessities due to budgetary constraints.

He said the beauty pageant had been made possible by fund raising as the Department of Social and Community Development took the initiative of raising funds to cover the pageant.

In his closing remarks, the Ghanzi District Council, deputy chairperson, Shadrack Modisane urged the participants to take the pageant seriously and take whatever they had been taught back to their different settlements and share it with their peers to help improve their lives. ENDS
