Mochudi police are investigating two deaths of a 34-year-old woman and 20-year-old man which occurred at Artesia and Leshibitse on Saturday involving a 34-year-old woman and 20-year-old young man.
In an interview with BOPA, Supt Olebile Sitale of Mochudi police said a 32-year-old man of Thareseleele ward in Artesia had been arrested and helping police with investigations concerning the death of the 34-year-old woman of Malolwane.
He said police were alerted by the suspect’s friend who was called by the suspect asking him to go and check on his girlfriend, only to find the door locked.
Supt Sitale said when the friend enquired further he was told where the key was and sensing foul play he called other members of the community and the police whom upon opening the door they found the girl covered with bed sheets motionless.
He said they suspected that the boyfriend could have suffocated her to death possibly during an argument or conflict.
In another case, Supt. Sitale said they had arraigned a 25-year-old man of Leshibitse with the murder involving the 20-year-old man which occurred on Saturday night (October 21).
He said the incident happened at a drinking spot and the body of the dead young man had injuries which showed that he might have been stabbed with a sharp object.
Supt Sitale said both the murder suspects would appear before Mochudi magistrate court to answer for murder charges.
In yet another case, Supt Sitale said a 44-year-old man died after he lost control of his vehicle along Malotwana-Mochudi road.

Supt Sitale cautioned drivers to exercise caution and obey road signs and traffic rules whenever using the road to avoid casualties.
He said two passengers of a Honda Fit are nursing serious injuries at Gaborone Private Hospital after they collided with a Corolla vehicle at Bokaa traffic lights.
