Zimbabweans charged for stealing stock

Three men that originate from Zimbabwe have been charged for stealing 26 goats and smuggling them to their country of origin.
The trio appeared briefly before Bobonong Customary Court to answer for a single count of theft after they were arrested by Bobonong Police last week at Maekwane lands.
Appearing before Kgosi Dimakatso Patane, the trio did not plead guilty to the charge, but told the court that they wanted their case to be referred to the magistrate court for trial.
The trio, Khona Moyo, 46, Pride Moyo, 26 and Mphile Moyo, 20, are charged for stealing 26 goats belonging to Oneile Poely of Makala ward in Bobonong at Mashambe cattlepost in April last year.
According to the particulars of the offence the three, acting jointly on or about April 4, 2016 stole the 26 goats and crossed with them to Zimbabwe.
The prosecution represented by constable Future Jonas of Bobonong Police stated they upon crossing to Zimbabwe they were spotted by Zimbabwe Police, who found them with 16 of the 26 goats.
Constable Jonas indicated that the 16 goats found had their earmarks tempered with.
Kgosi Patane granted them their wish and referred the matter to Bobonong Magistrates’ Court for trial. ENDS
