Ms RADP Central District winners have appealed for support from the district councillors in their bid to bring the crown home.
Speaking at Central District Council chambers recently, queen Olebogile Oganne said that they visited the council, not only to canvass for support from the byelaw makers, but to affirm that remote areas dwellers packed talent like any other locality.
The Gojwane native, who won P5 000 and awarded P15 000 for a project to undertake told the CDC said that she was a responsible citizen despite hailing from a remote village and she consequently appealed for encouragement and support going into the final.
Oganne was crowned Ms RADP Central District recently in Nata.
The first princess was scooped by Lesitamang Garebaitse of Zoroga, whose prize money was P4 000. She too appealed for support from the CDC in her efforts to revive culture as the reigning first princess.
Apart from culture revival, the second fairest CDC lady seeks to discourage youth from bad habits and behaviour while simultaneously urging them to take up government programmes that sought to help them.
Acting CDC chairperson, Mr Lesedi Phuthego pledged support for the winners and appealed for the same from his fellow councillors. For her part, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Ms Botlogile Tshireletso, whose ministry oversees the pageant, told council that she had pressed long and hard for the Ms RADP pageant to come to fruition.
She argued that ever since the pageant started the ladies have gained massive confidence and it has also empowered the girl child.
The assistant minister, who is also a MP for Mahalapye East, observed that beneficiaries of the programme had now become proud of their localities and could mingle with people from any place with confidence. ENDS
