Tonota police investigate murder of a 57-year-old

Police are investigating a case in which a 57-year-old man of Tonota was found dead on August 26.

Superintendent Kenanao Badumetse of Tonota Police Station said the man’s body was found lifeless by a passerby who reported the incident to them.

Supt. Badumetse said they have arrested a 46-year-old man from Tonota in connection with the incident and was helping them with investigations.

He said it was alleged that the two had quarrelled over a girlfriend the night before.

He said the body was awaiting postmortem at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital, and that the suspect would appear in court on September 11.

He appealed to the public to seek counselling when they have problems instead of resorting to taking the law into their hands. ENDS
