17 Aug 2017
A familiar face in the modelling industry, she is about to become a regular in the international scene, thanks to her new role as a receptionist in South African Drama, Broken Vows which airs every day on Etv.
Thabang Mmolotsi, a local model based in South Africa under Boss Models Johannesburg is doing her part to put Botswana on the map.
In an interview, Thabang encouraged youth to embrace their uniqueness; she said that they should never compare themselves to others because everyone is born different in this world for a reason.
She further said that she grew up as a tomboy, tall and slim but that never stopped her from pursuing her modelling dreams.
It’s that innate sense of purpose; determination and faith that has helped propel her career to greater heights.
Mmolotsi born and raised in Morwa, in Kgatleng is a passionate and hardworking young woman who strongly believes in achieving her dreams and helping others achieve theirs.
She started modelling 10 years ago and few years back she fell in love with acting, to gain experience she started as an extra to learn.
Mmolotsi explained that she had done a couple of adverts from TV commercials, print and billboards.
She also said that she worked with big South African companies such as Dulux, Edgars, FNB, Newscafé and many more.
Thabang added that she worked with international designers like Carolina Herrera, who is a designer for Mitchell Obama, South African designer David Tlale, Taibo Bacar and many more including some of our local designers like Lesedi Matlapeng, Mothusi Lesolle, Botho Chalebgwa and Black Trash.
It is often said that it is not how you start that is important, but how you finish.
MMolotsi said that before she started modelling she tried her luck in auditions but got rejected.
She explained that working with Carolina Herrera was the highlight of her career since many South African models auditioned but she was picked out of them.
“To be honest I appreciate everything that has happened in my career, I cannot single out one as the most important since I needed them all to be where I am today but Carolina Herrera is one I will never forget,” she added.
Mmolotsi said her dream was to build modelling standard in Botswana, noting that she was willing to make it a reality.
She advised upcoming models and Batswana in general to always be humble and above all to trust God in everything they do; she said they should not be afraid to ask for help were it is needed for them to prosper. ENDS
