13 Aug 2017
A 55 year old storekeeper has appeared before the Francistown regional magistrate court charged with giving false information to a person employed in the public service.
A press release from the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) states that their investigations revealed that the accused person Billy Mabote on January 13, 2009 in Francistown, gave Violet Matshaba, employed in the public service by the department of Supplies, information that two indirect solar tanks of 200 litres each have been purchased from Mansovic Construction and Civil Works when in fact this was not true.
The DCEC states that Ms Matshaba, with the information provided by Mabote, passed Government Purchase Order to Mansovic Construction and Civil Works.
Mabote had stated that the Department of Buildings and Engineering Services had ordered the solar tanks.ENDS
