Police arrest suspects

Police have arrested three suspects in two criminal offences of breaking into a motor vehicle committed last week along Kaunda Road (CID South Traffic Lights) in Gaborone.
A press release from the police states that in one of the incidents two Batswana males aged 18 were arrested on July 16, 2017 after breaking into a motor vehicle and got away with a handbag containing iphone 6 and other properties.
Stolen property amounts to over P16 000.
The two suspects have been arraigned before court. In another incident, a Motswana man aged 32 years was arrested on July 28, 2017 at Bontleng location in Gaborone after breaking into a motor vehicle and got away with a handbag containing two phones and other properties. The suspect was arrested the same day and the properties stolen were recovered.
He appeared before court on Tuesday.
Police have also arrested two Batswana men aged 27 and 34 for breaking into a shop at Tlokweng and stealing cash amounting to over P40 000 on Tuesday. Suspects are alleged to have used explosives to blast a safe that contained the money.
It states that the police followed suspects and during the arrest the 34-year-old suspect was shot and wounded. He is admitted in hospital in a stable condition.
Cash amounting to over P6 000 was recovered from the suspects. Meanwhile, two Batswana men aged 32 and 37 were arrested at Dibete Veterinary Gate on Tuesday for unlawful possession of explosives.
Another suspect also believed to be a Motswana escaped at the scene and the police are still looking for him.
