Obzar drops Ka leso Lame
26 Jul 2017
The saying that “there are more ways than one of digging for money” by Charles Kingsley is what Botswana youth nowadays seem to be doing.
Twenty-eight-year old Maun born Omphile Johane, known as ‘Obzar’ has decided to explore the music industry to avoid the pangs of hunger.
Recently he released his first six tracked album titled Ka Leso Lame.
In an interview with the young artist, who is new in the music industry, he said he rejected to be among the statistics of the youth idling in streets by releasing his Ka Leso Lame which has six tracks including songs such as Jeso o etla, O seka wa eletsa and Segogwane, among others.
Obzar, who has a Christian background, and an avid Rara Apostolic Christian church follower pointed out that the main track of the album Ka Leso Lame is a track that is dedicated to consoling and motivating orphans and those who lost their beloved ones to keep on praying and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ as he is the answer to every problem.
Jeso o etla is about the coming of Jesus Christ and it encourages people to repent from their sins and live in the path of the lord.
O seka wa eletsa is a summary of the 10 commandments in the Bible that guides Christians in their everyday lives to refrain from habits that will cause illness, death, wars and regret.
The album was produced by Carlos Ditsheko Recording Studios in Maun, and supported by five backing vocalists.
He noted that the album, which he recorded from his savings, was doing well as customers were purchasing it from him because he has not yet distributed it countrywide.
Obzar said his music was different from other local gospel artists as his main aim was to spread the word of Christ through preaching, commonly known as ‘thero,’ in Setswana not only with music as many local gospel artists were used to. ENDS
