Police nab most wanted criminals

Police in Bobonong have finally nabbed up their most wanted men who have been sought for various crimes ranging from a spate of armed robberies, house and store breaking that have been happening in Bobonong and surrounding areas. 

In an interview with Bobonong station commander, Superintendent Paul Seoko on Thursday, the arrest was made last week at Mabumahibidu ward in Bobonong when the suspected criminals were cornered in the house by the police. 

Superintendent Seoko stated that the police had been searching for the suspected criminals who were armed with a rifle and were suspected in a number of house and store-breakings as well as armed robbery. 

Among the arrested, he said was the owner of the room, who had been harbouring the suspects for months adding that the alleged proceeds of the crime were also confiscated at the same house.

He said during the arrest, the men who were armed failed to surrender and warning shots were fired at them by the police until they gave up. 

Superintendent Seoko stated that acting they acted after a tip off from members of the community. 

He stated that the men were found in possession of various goods such as a rifle, cellphones, laptops and groceries suspected to have been stolen. 

Investigations, he said were on-going adding that the rifle could have been the one used to rob business people in a series of armed robberies that started earlier this year. 

Superintendent Seoko stated that for several months’ business people and residents had been living in fear and urged residents to continue with their normal lives without fear since the suspected criminals had been arrested. ENDs
