Tatitown police investigate murder

Tatitown police are investigating the murder of a 20-year-old man in Marobela on June 17.
According to Senior Superintendent Cyprian Magalela, the deceased who originates in the same village, had a misunderstanding with a suspect at an entertainment place and a fight erupted leading to a sharp instrument being used to inflict injuries on the victim.
He said the victim was certified dead on arrival at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital (NRH) and that the suspect was still at large.
In Tonota, police are investigating a suicide and two rape cases.
Superintendent Kenanao Badumetse said a 28-year-old man of Grootlagte was found hanging from a tree in the bush in Mabesekwa on June 18 and was confirmed dead on arrival at NRH.
Supt Badumetse said the deceased was employed as a herd boy, and that efforts to inform his relatives were underway.
In one of the rape cases, Supt Badumetse said on June 17, a 35-year-old woman was raped by a 22-year-old man at her boyfriend’s place.
He said it was alleged that the victim, who was accompanying her boyfriend at a bar, decided to go back home and rest and woke up to find herself naked. He said fortunately, the suspect who was currently in police custody, left some of his clothes at the scene.
In another rape case, he said a 16-year-old girl was raped on her way to the shops around 6pm on June 18.
He said the suspect, who is known to the girl, asked her to accompany him to his home where he would download gospel music for her from his computer, but that when the victim refused the suspect dragged him into the house and raped her.
No arrest has been made yet and police investigations continue.BOPA
