Society on quest to translate Bible
19 Jun 2017
Bible Society of Botswana hosted its first music festival at St Joseph’s College which saw 11 church choirs taking part.
Chairperson of Botswana Choral Association, Moses Tsheko said the main aim of the music festival was to raise funds for the society.
He said the money raised from the festival would help the society continue its obligation of translating the Bible to different languages.
Tsheko said the society had managed to translate the Bible to Kalanga, but have not yet printed it and were working on having Seyei, Sekgalagadi and Sesarwa versions.
He expressed hope that the society would go a long way in fulfilling its duties, noting, ‘these men and women have gone on to re-define voluntaryism, they took away their family time, finances and gave their best efforts to Bible Society’, he said of the choir members. ENDS
