Duo release maiden album

18 Jun 2017

Keabetswe Richard and Keabetswe Makwate, who go by the popular names, Richard Dollar and Dunkey in the music circle, have released a single titled, Never Understand, which features promising producers A1 Keys and Jay Fever.

The duo, still wet behind the ears in the music industry, are still trying to curve a niche and appeal to the masses.

Their album was released on June 4.

Never Understand, has proved to be a track that cannot just be ignored and has been well received though yet to be circulated among different radio stations.

The two said were still playing around with beats and were hopeful that bigger things await.

First rappers from Bobonong said they chose hip-hop because they grew up listening to artists like 50 cents, whom they look up to.

They were inspired by the talent of the American-born rapper and soon hit the studio to try their luck.

Working with A1 Keys and Jay Fever, they said was an honour and achievement because they were their age mates and understood what they wanted to achieve.

Richard Dollar said what set them apart from other artistes was that, their music was classified as trap soul with hip hop instruments and that made them unique to other artists.

The seemingly ambitious musicians said like any other aspiring artistes they were planning to have a record label and make a mark in regional and international scenes.

Realising one’s dream Dunkey acknowledged was not always easy, but through determination, it is possible.

The single is not yet available on social media, but would soon be availed. BOPA
