Ghanzi police investigate murder

Ghanzi police have arrested a man suspected to have murdered a middle aged woman on Sunday.

Ghanzi Police station commander, Mr Tshoganetso Lekone told BOPA in an interview that they arrested the suspect on Monday.

He said the suspect was a boyfriend of the deceased.

Mr Lekone explained that they received a call on Sunday morning about a possible murder incident and dispatched a team to the scene.

On arrival at the scene the deceased was lying on the ground and was taken to hospital where she was certified dead.

Lekone stated that this was the second murder case reported in Ghanzi and from the same ward.

He urged women to avoid walking late at night and to always have their whereabouts known ENDS
