Trio appears for stock theft

Three men appeared before Kanye Magistrate Court last week, for stealing stock contrary to Section 3 (a) of Stock Theft Act.

The trio are, Melvin Josephs (33) of Sebubi ward in Ranaka, Ponono Kgaudi (39) of Maoto ward in Kanye and Alebakwe Thema (26) of Sebobi ward in Ranaka. All of them are unemployed.

Particulars of the offence are that the accused persons and another one who was not before court on the 10 May 2017, near Sesaneng cattle post adjacent to Kanye, were found by police officers in possession of two carcasses of cattle after tip off.

The carcasses were skin of beasts, two heads of beasts and eight hooves of cattle suspected to be stolen stock and they failed to produce reasonable evidence or account for where they got carcasses.

The carcasses were a tshweu and tshwaana skin and heads.

Police inspector, Goitsemang Sekgabo was a prosecutor on the case. ENDS
