Kutlwano police in Francistown are investigating a case in which a 24-year-old man is suspected to have murdered his 23-year-old girlfriend on January 6 in Block Seven.

Superintendent Motsholathebe Mothibi said the suspect, who appeared for mention at the magistrates court, hailed from Damuchujenaa while the deceased was from Topisi.

Supt Mothibi said a sharp instrument was used to murder the deceased.

He said the murder was the second one in a period of less than two weeks. The first case was registered in the last week of December.

In the first case, he said a 28-year-old woman of Gulubane was allegedly murdered by his 29-year-old lover using a blunt object.

The station commander said both suspects appeared before the court to answer for murder charges while police investigations were ongoing.

He observed that in both cases, the lovers had unresolved conflicts. ENDS
