Tlatsa Lebala huge success
08 May 2017
Thousands of music revelers thronged the National Stadium on Saturday to witness history being made of having an event with 100 per cent local artistes on the line up, making the Tlatsa Lebala event a huge success.
After receiving doubts from people when he embarked on his 1000km walk to promote local music, local artiste Kast did not waiver nor let critics deter him from realising his dream to fill up the stadium with local artistes only.
Tlatsa Lebala managed to bring local artistes together and give out performances which left thousands of people begging for more. The event should be credited for catering for everyone as the line-up consisted of a lot of performers from different musical genres; from hip hop, kwaito-kwasa, gospel, kwasa-kwasa, motswako to traditional dance .
The jovial mood seemed to be contagious on the crowd.
People were having fun socialising with one another, some catching up with their long lost friends whom they reunited with.
As the night progressed, the performances from Dj’s such as Dj Izzy and Dj Sly electrified everyone as they put on their dancing shoes and began dancing.
The artistes did not disappoint in delivering the best performances to match up with the event of this magnitude and also please the masses.
Alfredo Mos gave a sterling performance of his all-time hits such as Ipabalelo tseleng which had the crowd wanting more.
His dancers inspired a lot of dance moves from the thousands who attended as everyone wanted to show that they can also move as good as his dancers.
The Metro FM award winner, Vee Mampeezy also did the show justice and had his fans eating from his palm when he performed hit after hit coupled with theatric dance moves from his dancers as well.
The crowd went berserk and screamed at the top of their voices when he performed his hit song I DO.
He went on to perform his old songs such as Taku-taku and Letlhale and the fans could not contain themselves to his performance.
Other artistes who graced the event included Faded Gang who performed songs such as Faded anthem, MMP Family with their superb performances of hits such as Makhenekhe, Problem child and Lebala ka nna, much to the enjoyment of hip hop and motswako fans.
Dr Vom proved he was still a crowd pleaser when he belted out his Tsaya thobane song which had even people who were seated on stands get up and dance to more of his songs.
The highlight of the night and possibly the most emotional moment was when the man who made the event possible, Kast walked on stage to come and give his long awaited and anticipated performance.
He walked on stage with Tumelo ‘the number 1 motlatsi’ Moitisi, a young boy who during Kast’s walk contributed one Pula, a gesture that Kast has since appreciated.
He performed his hit songs such as Sjabana and left the crowd wanting some more.
As promised, the security detail for the event was on point with security guards all over the place with dogs to monitor the activities during the event both in the VIP and general sections.
The event was on point, the artistes gave their all in their performances and the crowd as expected had absolute fun and did manage to fill up the stadium. BOPA
