As a way of promoting creative arts, Eco Express events organized an event called Summer Never Ends festival in partnership with Express Smart Retail and Orange, to unlock the talents of Batswana.
Speaking in an interview over the weekend, Kutlwano Tlotleng of Eco Express said Summer Never Ends festival was organized as an educational factor to the upcoming artistes to learn from well known artistes who dominated the music industry for a long time such as Odirile Sento a.k.a Vee Mampeez, Mcgver Sereto a.k.a Dj Gyvos, Chef Gostos among others.
The festival aimed at encouraging the unemployed youth never to lose hope but instead rise up to develop their talents as they can still make it in through determination and motivation, he said.
Furthermore, Kutlwano thanked the almighty God, all partners, and artistes for taking part and making the festival a success.
One of the Eco Express partners, Sylvester Motshwaedi said their mission was to continue with such great events to help in giving back to the community. He said they had identified some villages in the Boteti area to help the less privileged people as a way of improving their standard of living as well as improving their school results.
He said they asked for help from sponsors but it was unfortunate they came at the wrong time while other people were on the list. He added that they never gave up on the idea but rather ensured that the event became successful through cooperation, team work and determination. Motshwaedi further said the next coming events they would ask for sponsorships well on time.
One of the upcoming artistes for Letlhakane, Lefika Ratladi, who is a member and founder of the Playing Back Dance Group said in an interview that they felt honoured as the young upcoming generation for being recognised at the Summer Never Ends Festival.
He said their recognition in the community gave them hope and courage to work harder. He noted that they were working hard by engaging in different dancing styles such as Durban dance, Afro buja and Nigeria. ‘We are looking forward to our growth in the music industry and we are passionate to do the best with the support we get from other seasoned artistes,” he said.
