A 24-year-old artiste, Onalenna Tabane, otherwise known as Tau Ya Motswaki, in the music arena has recently released a hit single titled ‘Part of Me’ in which he features Spizza Valentino.

Having landed in the industry with a broken heart after losing his mother, Tau ya Motswaki has shown intriguing lyrical ability.

His first single Botshelo jwa me, a storyline single that hints the hardships of life after losing his mother, has since branded and unlocked a door for opportunities.

In an interview, he said the song was released on April 15 and circulated in all local radio stations where it received good reception.

On why he chose to work with Spizza on the single, he said the single was a love song and he thought of him as the right and good collaborator.

“I felt Spizza Valentino could give me exactly what I wanted because his music is good. I looked back into his hits and all the more I knew he was the person I wanted for the song,” Tau ya Motswaki said.

He also said since the release of Part of Me, he had received a number of gigs including Serowe picnic and was yet to share the stage with celebrated actors such as Arthur Mafokate of South Africa, Kast, Charma Gal and many others for LECCO and CICI’s album launch in Morwa.

Tau ya Motswaki said what set him apart was that his music catered for everyone and thus ensured that he took it to the people through all radio stations, adding he was not mimicking anyone and remained unique.

He added that like many artistes, he used social media platforms to market his music.

“When you are good and display nothing but pure talent people won’t disappoint, they will support you. It’s not wrong to look up to others but copying them is not acceptable. That’s basically how I managed to release and how my music is penetrating the airwaves,” he said.

Going into the future,  Tau ya Motswaki said his aim was to build a brand and make a mark in local and international scenes.

He said he was shooting Part of Me video that will be released soon and aims for Channel O  play for his future music videos.

He further said he was working on his 12-track album to be released in October and has worked with hip hop sensation HT Tautona and Spizza.

He rocked the airwaves with his first single titled Botshelo jwame, which he said many loved and left a bunch emotional and went on to release his second single Gold chain and Age is just a number.

Tau ya Motswaki advised that young people should study first before going into music citing that music has many challenges and the main one being difficulty to penetrate the industry and a qualification or career is an excellent backup. ENDS
