Francistown jazz festival postponed

The much anticipated Francistown jazz festival which was scheduled to take place on April 8 has been postponed indefinitely.

According to a press release signed by the festival director, Soares Katumbela the decision to postpone came about due to lack of sponsorship to cover costs for service providers which include technical, stage, sound and artists.

The release further advises those who have bought tickets to hold on to them and those who won complimentary ones to continue collecting them in Francistown at The Voice offices and Molapo Crossing Streethorn Music Café in Gaborone while the new date for festival is mapped.

Streethorn apologizes for any inconveniences caused.

The festival which a partnership between the Francistown City Council and Street Horn is expected to revive the northern city’s history as the country’s hub of music entertainment.

The highlights of the festival will include renowned South African jazz legend, Jonas Gwangwa, Ringo Madlingozi, Shanti Lo, Amantle Brown, Mshilo, It has to be Jazz, Bana Ba Ntogwa, Sereeetsi and the Natives, DJ Papi Jazz and Lister Boleseng. ENDS
