Tsodilo heritage site launches rhino trail

The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism through the Department of National Museum and Monuments (DNMM) will launch the Tsodilo World Heritage Site Rhino Site Trail Staircase project on April 11 at the Tsodilo World Heritage Site.

A press release from the ministry says the project is in collaboration with Diamond Trust.

“The launch will be done by the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism, Mr Rule Opelo in the presence of the Diamond Trust Executive Committee and local authorities in Ngamiland.”

The release further state that the national museum has partnered with the Diamond Trust and the Tsodilo World Heritage Site Trust to develop the site for the benefit of the community.

“The Rhino Trail Staircase Project is funded to the tune of P1 million and its aim is to improve accessibility and add value to Tsodilo World Heritage site as a way of attracting more tourists to this prime tourist destination. The staircase will also help to reduce the risk of accidents on the site.” ENDS
