The Serowe born will also feature king of the decks DJ Zynne who will be dropping his single track in April. The 32-year-old devoted singer appeared in the music industry in 2009 with his debut eight track Afro pop album Kefitlhile.
Although the album did not do well in the market owing to poor marketing strategies, Ranny-G believes the album had one of the best songs in MmaSelina (Mosadi wa Sekeleme).
In his conviction the song ushered him some popularity as it was played on radio stations and weddings, a gesture that earned him comparison to renowned singer Mr Tagg.
A very sensational singer and a true believer in love, Ranny-G is a marvel to watch when serenading revelers at weddings.
His music talent, he says, has been realised from a tender age as he confidently led school assembly songs where he got some incentives for his singing skills.
Not only that, he partook in various talent shows, a move that helped hone his skills and confidence.
In 2004, he met Nazzy-T and formed a kwaito crew where they sang together for some time before he ventured into a solo music journey. In 2005, Ranny-G formed an Afro-pop group called 2 &1 with two ladies namely Melody and Lethompho who doubled as vocalists and dancers.
The trio received much support from Batswana as they performed songs like Matshidiso and Go monate jang during weddings.
In 2008, he took a break from performing but writing songs whilst simultaneously indulging in self-introspection, the resultant of which was to focus on Afro Jazz Soul in 2013.
In 2013, he took a bold step to record a failed 12 track album called My Name is Ranny-G in Rustenburg, South Africa but he alleges foulplay by producer and the keyboard player.
Nevertheless, the young talented artist came back home with unfinished beats for a track called Naledi of the same album. Upon arrival, he took the beats to Tshepho Lesole to compose a song called Monyenyo wa gago.
“The hit single with catchy lyrics Monyenyo wa gago was released in 2014, good production of quality music, that is the song that elevated me in all aspects, got massive support from Batswana and most importantly the fact that I sing in Setswana makes my listeners happy,” he said.
Also, he worked with the experienced Suggie Fisher as a backup vocalist for the tracks Kemang and Monyenyo wa gago.
Ranny-G explained that he took songwriting seriously in 2011.
He wrote and directed a famous single hit Gosiame by DJ King featuring a young vocalist Rittar.
Many of his achievements include acting as an extra in the Sir Seretse Khama United Kingdom Documentary as assistant doctor and also as a man who was against the marriage.
His talent has been witnessed by the masses, he entered President Competitions in Francistown, Afro Jazz Style category at regional level for the first time and scooped position 2 and he is still hopeful that one day he will make it to the nationals.
Challenges faced by Ranny-G include low earnings in the music industry thus making it hard to shoot music videos, less or no payments at all after performances.
As promotional slots are expensive it affects marketing for the upcoming artist thus hindering the success of their music.
Besides music industry he revealed that he sustains himself by selling his merchandise, t-shirts, cups, self-made biltong branded Ranny-G Music.
In future he intends to own a record label, clothing line as music alone could not make enough takings, he also wish to own a music centre or workshop to nurture and develop talented young artists.
Ranny-G waits in anticipation of bigger things in his life, he also plans to start a music band to be called Mmmoko wa Tlalane Jazz Band. ENDS
