MTC suspends nineteen officers

Ministry of Transport and Communications has suspended 19 officers on suspicion of corrupt practices at the Department of Road Transport and Safety.  
A news release from the ministry states that the corrupt practices the officers are implicated into range from fraudulent issuance of drivers’ license, road worthy certificates, theory test marks, permits, soliciting Money from a customer and mismanagement of licensing forms.
The release states that suspension of the officers has since affected the daily delivery of services, especially on the side of practical tests (yard & road) that were halted.
Driving practical tests resumed on Monday and will run until Friday at the following DRTS stations in Gaborone, Mochudi and Molepolole.
The police are currently investigating the case. ENDS
