Orapa Soul Session, a lifestyle event that aims at filling the gap in family and outdoor entertainment in Orapa to be held at Duck & Scrum social club on Saturday will aid Boteti East Foundation.
Boteti East Foundation is a charity registered by Boteti East MP, Sethomo Lelatisitswe to coordinate and implement developmental projects in Boteti East constituency.
According to Orapa Soul Session Event mmanager and Snowy Tonoko of Invent Events, Orapa had for a while not had quality entertainment events, thus the idea of organising a soul, rhythm and blues, often shortened to R n' B, house classics from the 80s and 90s and a jazz musical session.
“Most inhabitants of Orapa and mine employees are professionals and artisans who have had a taste of urban life.
Many of them gravitate towards family oriented lifestyle events with Soul, Jazz, R n' B, Oldies entertainment.
Because of that we saw the need to fill this gap by organising an event that has a family relaxed atmosphere to raise funds for Boteti East Foundation,” she disclosed.
She also said the event would start at 12 noon with a kiddies play area and viewing of corporate and SMME stalls on exhibition and would also comprise other activities such as braai and food, as well as other family centered events and musical performances.
She said the event was not just about entertainment and fun, but ultimately about raising funds and raising awareness about the existence of Boteti East Foundation and its work.
Invent Events is an entertainment company that is on a mission to take the youth out of the streets and help then find their way into a positive meaningful life.
