After two successful road shows in Gaborone, the city will again for the third time host the third annual Fashion Without Borders (FWB) on April 6-7.
According to a press release from Efigy Productions Company, Fashion Without Borders Designers road show will be held under the theme ‘Pret -a- porter- ready to wear.
The release says in partnership with The Voice newspaper, Gaborone will play host the event, which will attract 20 designers from Botswana and four from the rest of the continent.
It further explains that the event will be held in two different venues at the National Museum on April 6 at 6pm and at Avani Hotel and Resort on April 7. At the National Museum, the night will be exhibitions and poetry style.
The release states that Avani Hotel is the perfect location and its fashionable new look and design will present FWB followers with an indoor feeling. The theme, says the release, will encourage designers to start thinking and learning how to supply huge stores all across the African continent.
“The brand FWB understands and supports the dynamics of the mandate to provide youth with development skills and recognise the unique opportunity to use fashion, arts and craft in this regard,” states the release.
This year, it says a large number of designers from Botswana will witness the launch of a book entitled THE PERIL OF A SAINT by Kenneth Moeng.
It further states that Efigy Production is confident that its proposed solution will effectively address the needs for open and transparent celebrations that will contribute to job creation and youth development in Botswana and the rest of the continent.
“Our goal is to assist communities in its effort to provide youth with skills and motivation to participate in the socio- economic development in the disadvantaged areas around Botswana and the rest of the African continent,” states the release. ENDS
