21 Mar 2017

Upcoming gospel artist, Katlego ‘Katto’ Monggae has released another album after his disappointing debut offering.

The second album, Ga a yo Mathata volume II aims to achieve what Ga Modimo a le teng Volume I failed to attain.

The six-truck album, which was recorded at Flow Studio and Dry in Gaborone, is much an improved effort from the debut album.

In an interview, Katto noted that only perseverance and the love of spreading the gospel keep pushing him to aim high.

The first album, he attested did not do well in the market mainly due to lack of marketing, something he intends not to repeat with the current album.

A devoted Roman Catholic Church member, the Ramotswa-born artist said lack of resources were his main undoing in the first album’s failed marketing drive, adding that he was working on finding better sound systems to enable him to carry the project. Other than that, the young artiste has connected with reputable artistes and groups to help him market his new album.

“We have already started the album promotions and some performances,” he said.

He said the new album was promising, judging by the positive reception he has received from stage performances. Further, he was thankful for the support he received from Kgosi Mosadi of Balete and Winners Chapel, which has in the past sponsored him for Event Management and Artist Management courses. Katto started his music career in 2012.

“In music all you need is discipline, otherwise you will fall,” he added. ENDS
