A Maun youth, Tunehi Ndjarakana has formed a company named Okamuano Investment which aims to unearth talent in music, oviritje and dance through competitions.

The company’s vision is to develop youth and make them achieve quality life through their talents and also contribute meaningfully to the economy of the country.

In an interview, Ndjarakana explained that unemployment had become the order of the day for many young people hence she decided to come up with something that could meaningfully engage out of school youth and accord them a platform to showcase their skills and talent as well as expose them to the market.

She said her project targeted up coming artistes and dancers whose talents had been hidden and she aimed to expose and nurture it so that they benefitted from it. She also indicated that the project would also promote tourism and creativity in arts.

“We want to groom up coming artistes so that they could fully utilise their talents and become visible in the market and earn a living through their talents. We would be engaging professionals judges and artists to impart knowledge to them so that they could be well equipped,” she added.

She explained that Batswana youth were talented and some did not have platforms to display what they could offer and believed that her project would be ideal to address that.

Her project would focus on organizations of cultural festivals, music and dance festivals around the country. She said the company would assist and guide winners of the competition especially artistes to produce their own albums.

However, the founder of the company, Ndjarakana together with her co-partner, Mbatshi Selalami are working round the clock to host Okamuano Music and Dance Competitions scheduled for Maun end of April this year. ENDS
