After traversing the country in his 1000km walk campaign for Tlatsa Lebala, Tshepiso Molapisi popularly known as Kast arrived in Kgatleng district on Wednesday and was welcomed by jubilant residents of Artesia.
Kast would walk to Gaborone on Saturday March 18 to complete his 1000km walk at Riverwalk mall and ready for the Tlatsa Lebala event slated for May 6.
When welcoming Kast and his team, Kgosi George Thwane of Artesia applauded them for their determination and endurance in growing the music industry.
Kgosi Thwane said the gesture was a sign of patriotism and urged the nation to support activities that could help in employment creation.
He labelled Kast a trend setter who had united Batswana in a way last seen the during independence celebrations last year.
Kgosi Thwane also applauded Kast’s walk mate, Mokwena Marobela who volunteered to walk the 1000km with him.
President of Botswana Promoters Association, Zenzele Hirschfield said it was time Batswana celebrated local acts.
She said collectively, the public and artists’ support could see the industry grow and gain international recognition.
Hirschfield implored Batswana to pledge support towards Tlatsa Lebala main event to be hosted in May.
Kast appreciated the support and hospitality of the people of Artesia and encouraged Batswana to support one another.
“As a country we should help one another reach our individual goals of success, because when we shine together we shine brighter. Also it is important to walk the talk. I endured the 1000 km walk, it wasn’t easy but I knew it was for the good of our nation,” he said. ENDS
