Botswanacraft presents Music for Mums

15 Mar 2017

Botswanacraft is scheduled to host Music for Mums, a live classical programme, directed by none other than David Slater of Maruapula School on April 4.

Speaking in an interview, managing director of Maitisong, Oliver Groth said the idea to host the event came from the lack of live classical music events in Botswana even though some people enjoy it.

“There are a lot of people in Gaborone who enjoy live classical music, but they do not get the opportunity to experience it as often as they would like and we thought why not host it,” he said.

He said the event would include various musical pieces by Purcell, Bernstein, Chopin and many others.

“Some of these pieces will be performed on cello, violin, flute and piano,” said Groth, adding that Music for Mums is not necessarily only for mothers.

“Husbands can bring their wives, boyfriends can bring their girlfriends and sons can bring their mothers and enjoy,” he said.

He noted that the event was scheduled for 7pm for 7:30pm and tickets go for P160, which also caters for a light snack.

Groth indicated that the event would be hosted in their indoor Mogopong venue within Botswanacraft premises. ENDS
