Rangers Marena Choir in Artesia has recently shown appreciation to its valued members for their long service and devotion.
On Sunday the choir’s leaders held a prize-giving ceremony in Artesia to award prices to the members who have been loyal to the board and took instructions well.
Coordinator of the choir, Mphoentle Kwapa appreciated the member’s long service and outstanding performance over the Christmas and New Year celebration in a competition with Mmakgomo Choir from Mochudi.
She said the members needed motivation as the choir had come a long way and was known for its extra ordinary dancing, adding that even though there had been many rumours going around that the choirs performance was not related to Kgatleng style, she displayed admiration to the members that they were not shaken by the stories and had always shown respect to their leaders.
She added that they should not be afraid to demonstrate their talents and ignore any comments made by people because only God knows where they were going.
“Rangers Marena Choir has always looked forward to taking their supporters by surprise, so I urge you not to change this intent,” she added.
“Despite the allegations, the choir is swiftly moving forward and turning a new leave to see that both their members and supporters benefit from it.”
She said Rangers was due to bring something stronger and better as they would be joining forces again with Dr Vom on his new hit songs Mi nigga wasup.
She said they were yet to arrange the dates when the DVD would be completed and launched.
Among the members who received the prices was Bosetlha Matako for being the best male performer.
He got a cellphone worth P800.
Thato Makwatse was awarded for being the best female performer and was given chairs worth more than P400.
In addition, other members were awarded for the best voluntary skills, honesty and being able to go an extra mile to ensure the choir’s achievement.
The chairperson of the choir, Kenosi Mbise appreciated what the members were doing to try and change their lives.
He said he could see evolution of the choir and assured them that with the choir having a funeral plan for members, he guaranteed them that they were making arrangements to also cover the supporters to recognise their value.
Furthermore, he said the choir’s aim was to encourage youth to abstain from violence as well as alcohol and drug abuse.
He emphasised that any member who does not follow the choir’s code of conduct was disciplined firmly, that is why the members are obedient. ENDS
