Tafnaz, Botswana’s rising and independent RnB singer has sworn to keep RnB alive through the release of his Extended Play (EP) dubbed The Situationship which is to be launched in style and strictly by invite.
“RnB culture is now becoming non-existent as few are now pushing the genre. RnB used to be our fuel for loving, as we had legends such as Boys II Men, and Brian Mc Nights as our Inspiration,” he said.
The live music entertainer, artiste and song writer, Tadnaz’s EP mainly elaborates different moods swinging in either a healthy or unhealthy relationship with tracks denoting more of a straight up new-styled acid jams, with a bit of chilled out cinematic release of romance.
In an Interview with BOPA, Tafnaz, said he has been in the game for more than five years, but had started singing from his young age, while attending the 7th Adventist Church, where he loved, worships the musical culture and sang in Acapela Group, which groomed his voice and musical ear.
The duo whose real name is Busane Nazare (28) a Zimbabwean, who is currently based in Botswana since 2011, has made appearances which brings back his live music band that has been performing in most of Botswana Craft’s Mascom Live Sessions, including the ones featuring the likes of the United States singer, Angie Stone, and Zimbabwe’s best, Oliver Mtukudzi.
He said his 10 tracked EP, was the hope to the dying RnB genre as he was expecting to thrill his RnB lovers and revive the genre with his endearing complextro flavours, which have been infused up with euphoria, adding that his EP was planned to be dropped in four categorised events.
“I called my album The Situationship because of the calibre of songs that are in it. It touches everyone, including those in the relationship zone, friend zone, love zone, those emotionally constricted and also those who want to evoke the feeling,” he said.
He said he was unable to denote his favourite song from his EP as he had done best, justice, utmost best on all the songs but said track four was close to his heart because it encompassed reflections from his personal experience.
Tafnaz explained that they were therefore planning to hold ‘four strictly by invite special events’ where they shall launch EP.
“My first launch shall be, the Gold Edition which includes a very exclusive crowd of media personalities and sales of Gold Edition of the EP,” he said.
He said they will then hold the Red Tour Edition which gives the public a chance to experience Tafnaz performances, of which after that they shall hold the Silver Edition which deliberately infuses the live music performances.
“Lastly we shall hold the After Party Edition which is mainly to celebrate the project’s output to the society,” he said.
The EP features different producers such as FPMG’s Skull Hushi, Juz Beatz, who produces for Dramaboi’s albums, Mel D to ECL, who is a contrabandist’s pianist.
“The EP’s title is fitting one though no one would have guessed it before hand,” a fan said. BOPA
