Kutlwano police investigate incident

14 Feb 2017

Kutlwano police in Francistown are investigating an incident in which a 40- year-old man jumped from the Tati Bridge near Nzano shopping mall into the river on Friday.

Kutlwano station commander, Superintendent Neo Serumola said the man is admitted at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital with a broken ankle. He further said on interrogation, the man did reveal what his intentions were. In a different note, Supt Serumola dismissed allegations circulating in the social media that a report was done at his station to the effect that there are suspected BMW drivers who lure children into their cars.

He explained that while the police learnt about the matter in the social media, they went an extra mile and questioned the alleged BMW owners but there was nothing concrete to be held accountable for pertaining to the allegations.

Meanwhile, last week social media carried information purporting to be warning parents of children in Mophato, Maradu and Satellite primary schools that there is a black and white BMW driven by suspected characters who lure children into cars. ENDS
