Enigma shines across boarders

Comedian, poet, singer and songwriter Olebogeng Tsiako also known as Enigma has been the talk of town after recent performances in Swaziland where she endeared herself to many.
It is not so often that an artist masters more than one craft, but this is not the case with Tsiako who has managed to stay true to her many artistic callings and perfected them such that she can tackle each of them with ease.
Tsiako is an example of the phrase, ‘anything is possible as long as one manages their time wisely and puts a lot of effort in their work.’
“I refer to myself as an all-round artiste as I love wordplay so much so that I can rap, joke, write and recite poetry as well acting and it’s funny how I am often asked to choose one but I can’t as I love what I do equally because they all complete me,” she said.
Tsiako explained that she fell in love with the arts at a young age after discovering that she was good with words.
“I was a creative student and knew how to play with words to make a conversation interesting. People saw how gifted I was and encouraged me to nurture my talent,” she said.
She said it was at university that she started taking her talent seriously.
“I learnt a lot about making music and poetry and traded by the moniker Enigma, which means mystery or puzzle,” she said.
She said the name describe her many talents.
Tsiako’s star started shining internationally last year when she was invited to perform in Swaziland.
Her poetry caught the attention of many when she performed alongside heavy weights such as Anne Kansiime and that earned her invites from other African countries.
“My comedy sets incorporate poetry and music. Anybody who has seen my shows knows I do a lot of improvised singing, rapping, reciting and dancing. It is my trade mark,” she said.
She said her versatility had helped her grow and was able to perform on any stage for any type of audience as she had taken time to perfect her art.
“I have been invited to Swaziland three times and had never disappointed.”
Her ability to reinvent had helped her grow and this year promised to be good as she planned on releasing an album and to continue raising the flag high in other African countries. BOPA
