Bafenyi Petso, resident of Bobididi ward in Molepolole has released an eight track dikhwaere album titled Bo-Raboko.
Speaking in an interview with BOPA, Petso said the album was produced by Bullet Music Production in Gaborone saying so far it was doing well in the market with sales surpassing the rest of the other albums he had released before.
Bafenyi who last year won a BOMU award under the Best in Dikhwaere category said the album was a plea to end alleged ritual killings which he said were high especially in Kweneng.
He also said through the title track of the album he as an artiste wished to pass the message on behalf of other artistes that they do not tolerate ritual murders.
Petso also stated that he believed the message of the album especially the title track Bo-Raboko would deter will-be ritual murderers as the artistes were keeping a keen eye on them.
He further said that he was of the view that music could be used as a tool to appreciate situations and people or condemn wrong doings.
Petso said the message of his second track Tshuba-Lebone, talked about those people who wreck other people’s marriages, condemning that behavior as bad.
In his 4th track Galalela, he celebrated the station of Radio Botswana saying he was content that most of the times the station played and appreciated local music.
The 7th track Semana is a celebration of the award that he won at the BOMU awards in the category of Best in Dikhwaere.
He said winning the award has given him motivation to work hard, urging other artistes to do the same and to also produce quality music. Lastly Bafenyi thanked all his fans for appreciating his music, saying he often gets feedback on the streets and also through social media that he was doing a good job.
He said this was his fourth album and it was released in December. BOPA
