Lizibos second album out on Valentines Day

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and Afro pop singer Lizibo Simon’s album will be out just in time to help many lovers celebrate their love in style. Lizibo currently has one album titled Better Man released in 2012, and since then he has been releasing only singles, including the hit Tjumunyamunya.
In an interview, the pintsized musician said his now complete12 track album does not only speak of love but also introduces listeners to the more mature Lizibo who has been in the music industry for more than seven years now.
“The album is called Malebeswa in Ikalanga, which means truth and it addresses stories told by a better man who happens to be me; A man that has found himself in life as a ‘musical instrument’, a man that has accepted the role and responsibilities that come with this gift of being a singer,” he said.
Lizibo said he decided to take his time working on the album as he wanted to give his fans nothing but the best, hence the use of different sounds that all make up the artist in him and these include Rnb, Pop, Folk, hip hop and Gospel.
“As an artiste sometimes one wants to reflect back to where they started so as to celebrate and appreciate how far they have come and this is exactly what I was doing in this album. I wanted to take my fans on a journey from the time I started to where I am now as a singer and it’s been quite a fruitful journey,” he said.
The album is scheduled to be released on Valentine’s Day and the artiste is booked to perform at different events. “I want Batswana to experience firsthand what the album is about thus performing live for them on the day. I will be in Jwaneng at Cresta and on the 17th I will be in Palapye at Majestic5 to allow those that love songs that speak to the heart to enjoy with their partners,” he said.
The talented muso added that the album consists of the now famous hit Tjimunyamunya and others such as Dumilani and Shetla lame. He added that there are also many tracks to look out for such as the title track, Malebeswa, Turn around and hit girl which he believes will be much appreciated by his fans.
“I know how to cater for my fans and what mostly gets them excited and each time I make music I make sure I do it for them. I worked with talented people in the making of this album including famous Ikajazz legend Ndingo Johwa on a song called Ama loliwe and it is going to be a hit song,” he said.
Lizibo may be Botswana’s most diminutive musician in size, but he makes up for this by packing a powerful melodious punch. “I was born in a family of music and grew up watching my father and relatives sing and this inspired me to follow in their footsteps and all in my albums I make sure I deliver only the best,” he said.
He admitted that music is not always as easy as it seems and that a positive attitude is required to overcome obstacles. “A career as a musician is not all glitz and glamour and for one to outstand among the lot they have to put in extra hours of hardwork and that is exactly what I do,” he said.
Lizibo is one of the few artistes who have managed to live one of the most successful musical careers whilst keeping a down-to-earth and humble nature.BOPA
