Young artiste preserves dikhwaere

One of the Bobonong upcoming artistes, Morapedi Samuel famously known as Ramashetla has released a dikhwaere music album titled Malome.
Speaking in an interview, he said the album which was recorded at VGK studio in Bobonong has six track namely Malome, Pantsula,Tsalayame, MmaMalebogo, Dipina tsa maboko and Dizebra.
The 30 year Sefhophe born explained that the track Malome talks about the importance of having malome in a family adding that malome is a person whose responsibility is to solve problems or conflicts that arise within family.
Ramashetla said that dikhwaere is part of Setswana culture that needs to be preserved for the future generation.
He cited that artistes like Katara tsa moya of Masiela re bona dilo fame as his big inspiration into the music industry.
"The album has been receiving good reception since its release,” he said.
He appreciated the effort made by government in initiating the constituency arts competitions as they have helped him up his music talent.
Ramashetla said even though the dikhwaere genre is going down, a lot of artistes had come on board to promote dikhwaere music through recording. BOPA
