A 31-year-old driver of a minibus plying Molepolole/Serowe route died when the minibus carrying 15 passengers overturned at Kokonje lands near Sojwe on Thursday.

The accident, according to Sojwe station commander, Superintendent Joubert Kome, occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle after it hit a tree.

A 68-year-old woman, who was a passenger, was referred to Princess Marina Hospital where she was  treated for head injuries.

He confirmed that three of the occupants were minors who escaped unhurt while 11 other occupants were treated for minor injuries and released the same day.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Kome said they were investigating two separate incidents where seven men were arrested in connection with eight stolen goats at Setoto lands near Sojwe.

The goats were allegedly captured while grazing before five of them were sold to individuals.

The perpetrators were allegedly found in possession of three of the suspected stolen goats.

The station commander said they were hoping to recover some of the stolen goats and warned individuals to desist from receiving suspected stolen items.

In a similar incident, Superintendent Kome said they were investigating an incident where 10 goats were found slaughtered in a kraal on January 25.

The 10 goats according to Superintendent Kome were allegedly slaughtered in the kraal since heads and hides were found abandoned.

Superintendent Kome appealed to members of the public to help in the arrest of suspects who went away with carcasses of 10 animals

He therefore pleaded with farmers to avoid leaving their animals unattended. BOPA
