He is still a recognisbale character even up to today.
He perfomed Tinto, a hopeless character who got the tongue lashing from his would be brother-in-law for being useless, negligent and failing to maintain his children in Matsieng’s hit song, Tinto back in 2007.
But unlike the hopeless demeaning character, Molefe Lekgetho aka, Tinto is a hardworking man who is fighting hard to beat the jaws of poverty.
In an interview recently, Lekgetho who is musically known as Western, said his love for music could be traced back to his upbringing.
During his early childhood as a young boy at Ledumadumane, he said he would entertain his family and friends with his handmade guitar.
As he enjoyed his displays, as well as family members, little did he know he was caving a path to his future.
The young guitarist would then enjoy playing his handmade guitar making some money to sustain his family.
During one of the days, his cousin from mines in South Africa surprised him with brand new guitar and it was dream come true for him.
Ever since that, he had grown to fall deeper into music and subsequently releasing his first album, Western Sekukuni in 2005 at Eric Ramco studios.
The father of three said he had worked with the likes of Solly Sebotso, Radipitse and Ntirelang Berman on the 10 track album.
He said he was happy to see the improvement in the music industry of the country, explaining that it was important because it inspired them to step out from their comfort zone as musicians.
The artist said he was grateful to Member of Parliament for Ramotswa, Samuel Rantuana for having bought him a guitar and other instruments.
The star said he was working on his second album titled Bathong Utlwang Megolokwane, which was recorded at Zee Studios and produced by Monde from South Africa.
He said it was important for upcoming musicians to learn the concept of music to help guide them not to do it for fame. ENDS
