Poetic Omnibus thrills fans
18 Dec 2016
Friday night at Diggers Inn was bliss to the fans of Poetry as they witnessed performance by the local poets.
The fully packed hall had the fans eating from the poets’ palm of their hands as they showcased their best abilities in action prior to the closing of the year end for festive holidays for the omnibus crew
Every performance had heads rolling to the creativity displayed and fans were over the moon to have the recent, Northern Awards Winners; Koketso ‘Phenomenal’ Marumo and Karabo ‘Order’ Keitheng.
The duo did not disappoint their fans as they displayed their talents, rhyming to their lines of both Setswana and English.
Phenomenal did not hesitate to share with the crowd how honoured she is for having been chosen the best poet narrating her journey as a heavenly sent gift and vowing to die trying to do the best she can in the industry.
To add to the night, the Setswana poets Lucky Nkhurutshi of stage name Tsiki tsiki and Otsile Letina of stage name Phoko ya Leburuboko had fans to stand still as they showcased their talents on traditional clothes.
One would swear Phoko ya Leburuboko is of an older generation because of his rich Setswana words rhyming consistently reminiscing of the good year he has had, also asking the Almighty for more blessings in the coming year.
Upon being on stage, Tsiki tsiki would mesmerise his fans with blowing the horn, something that has became his trademark and they would patiently wait for him to spit the rich Setswana.
The duo showed how passionate they are with poetry as they consistently rhymed displaying high energy levels with comical faces responding to their stories, charismatically perplexing the crowd without panic, making sense to every story they tell.
The day was lined up with the stage names of Troy, Rodrey, Poetic Sensei, Ben Khoma, Bonnie the Poet, Leese, Kamogelo and Pastor Tangi. The theme of the night was Festive Fever.
In an interview, founding president of Poetic Omnibus, Obokeng Kagiso appreciated the support from the fans saying they aim at empowering and creating a possible network of empowerment for 2017 and beyond. ENDS
