African food festival December 17

Okavango Promotions will host Gaborone African Food festival on December 17.
When speaking during a press brief, the public relations officer of Gaborone African Food Festival Harriet Nkonjera said the importance of this event is to celebrate African culture by serving dishes from different parts of Africa.
She said the festival will take place at Bojanala Waterfront in Gaborone and the attendees will be offered the opportunity to see, taste and experience a wide variety of organic and authentic African dishes and beverages that are local to the continent.
Nkonjera further said their theme is based on recruited African chefs who have a great flair and experience on doing deep traditional African dishes.
“We shall have what we theme a “Once –Off Single-Line Buffet”, where one will be spoilt for choice, over East African food, followed by a visit to the Southern African Zone, North African Zone and winding up on the West African Zone, before slicing off any or all varieties of the 5 spit braai meat on offer (wild pig, lamb, impala, pig, goat), with complimentary homemade ginger drink or mageu and others,”Nkonjera said.
She added that they will be having children’s zone with plenty fun filled activities such as jumping castles, facial painting and clowns and they will have ushers and security care for children’s zone to ensure that parents have peace of minds while their children mingle with other children.
For his part Fred Maunze , a representative from Gaborone African Food Festival said local and foreign artistes such as Dr Tawanda, Dramaboi, DJ Cubid and DJ Ricky Lamar from Botswana, Sulu from Zimbabwe, and Chomza from South Africa will be performing at the event.
He also said other activities which will be taking place at the event are 5 aside celebrity football matches and mekoro round trip rides.
The tickects for the event will be P100 for children with food, P200 for adults without food, P250 for adults with food and P750 for VIP and they are available at webtickets and liquorama. ENDS
