Maburu DVD sells hot

Kgosi’s Traditional dance DVD titled Maburu is currently flying on the shelves following its release this year.
Kgosi whose real names are Tlhobogang Kgosi Sebulelo from Tsootsha/Kalfontein in the Ghanzi region, has not only cashed from the 50th independence celebrations this year but he is enjoying a wide range of clients who give him a call to ask for his DVD.
After an incredible bang into the industry in 2014 with the hit song O ntshwantsha le a anye, the shekgalagadi singer brought yet another fresh sound , of Maburu ba he tsietsa complemented with amazing matching quality pictures.
The song which became an instant hit depict the lives of Ghanzi people who are heavily dependent on full time farming.
It gives the viewer a picture of how in the past the Boers cheated their great-grandfathers by exchanging a cow with a mere bag of maize meal.
The five tracked DVD which is purely in Shekhalagadi language, gives a rich taste of what the region has to offer in terms of tourism and talent.
Kgosi said his mandate is to promote the diminishing culture of the Bakgalagadi and song writing and singing was the best option.
The DVD which comprises five tracks with two bonuses will soon be launched in different places such as Kang, Ghanzi, Maun, Hukuntsi, and other parts of Botswana. Kgosi said the DVD mainly focuses in the history of the Bakgalagadi culture and got awards in different competitions such as the President day competition where he scooped position two.
The five track album which include Maburu, Mosadi wecho, were shot in Ghanzi ‘s beautiful villages and settlements which include Tsootsha, Tsootshana, Tshobokwane , Ghanzi, D’kar and one of the beautiful gardens found 44 kilometres from Tshootsha junction towards Ghanzi hence the name forty- four.
The DVD is currently selling like fat cakes and Kgosi is optimist that it will perform well just like its album as the country prepares for the festivities. He said he was still working on distributing it to different places around the country.
The young lad was sponsored by The Ministry of Youth Empoerment,Sport and Culture Development with a P32 000 grant to shoot the DVD. The album which was recorded at Ironic Studio in Ghanzi was shot by Encounter TV.
He acknowledges all his sponsors and he was excited to reveal that the demand to cut more CDs and DVD’s was high. ENDS
