Kelebogile Ditshupo strut her stuff to be crowned Miss Regional Education officer for this year at a charitable beauty peagent held at Serowe College over the weekend.

The 41 year old was seconded by Gorata Molatlhiwa, a 22 year old Tirelo sechaba employee in the department and 38 year  Kelebogile Rabakane, a launderette  who was crowned second princess.

Ditshupo said that with the recognition she has, she will always be on the forefront to lead most community events.

 She emphasised that winning this pageant portrays her as the face of the department and she will work hard in securing sponsors for their charity projects, ensuring that there is team spirit amongst colleagues.

Marang Gobopang, the regional education office Public relations officer said they have adopted one Kealeboga Diphuphu of Marulamantsi ward, who is helped by the council by filling in the gap where the council is not able to help.

he also stated that they assist the SOS childrens home by donating toiletry to the children as they visit annually to see their needs.

To try to raise funds for these activities, she said that is when they decided to hold a beauty contest as employees of the department which comprised of general education officers of all different positions and different ages, and as the agenda was only to fund raise there was no criteria in selection.

Gopolang stated that it was the first time they held this kind of event ever since the start of the Wellness committee as she indicated that this was a wellness initiative and that they were  planing to make it an annual event. 

She said the queen will have to work as the face of their office, coming up with an initiative of her own or a charity of her own which they as the department will support in building it and turning it into a reality.

Furthermore she said they intend on using this beauty pageant in different ways which include uniting them as government employees to bring hope, light and unity in the workplace. ENDS
